About Us

Queer Camp actually started as a small retreat hosted by trans YouTuber Ty Turner. It was a chance for queer folks to camp with Ty in beautiful destination locations. The first year, campers crashed the website trying to snag a spot! The second year sold out in under an hour. 🫢 By year three, we started asking ourselves: How can we make this more affordable, more accessible, and an even better experience for everyone?

That’s where our story really begins. So we took the leap.

We bought all our own gear, partnered with a local nonprofit wilderness preserve, mapped out a game plan, and built Queer Camp from the ground up. In 2025, we welcomed 40 campers… and it was hands down one of the best decisions we’ve ever made.

Getting to watch lifelong friendships form, see people support one another around the campfire, and witness so much laughter and connection is the most rewarding part of what we do. Not to mention… a few campers have even found love after camp and have had many campers return from previous retreats, which truly means the world to us. ❤️
