What to Expect

Now more than ever, our people need to come together and show up for each other. Your job is to arrive and immerse yourself in nature while enjoying a week of fun activities and relaxation with your community. We will take care of the lodging, meals, and the hard work of camping for you.

Accommodations

This year we booked the entire campground so that everyone has the peace of mind to be themselves 100%. That means we have a wide range of accommodations for you to stay including Tents, Cabins, Treehouses, Yurts, and more! You are also welcome to bring your own tent.

Group discounts are available!

We also provide all of the communal camping gear so campers only need to bring their personal items and bedding. Additional gear is welcome and we do have a packing list as well as resources in the discord to help campers prepare! :)

Meals, Beverages, and Snacks

We will provide campers with all meals, snacks, and beverages (excluding alcohol). We are also ready to provide gluten free options, vegan or vegetarian options, and most dietary restrictions. Just let us know when you sign up!

If you wish to have specific snacks or drinks, you are welcome to bring your own.

Some accommodations have private refrigerators. Communal coolers and water stations will be dispersed around camp and always available!

The campground also offers additional classes and activities that campers can sign up for a la carte style.

Community Discord

From the moment you sign up for Queer Camp, you become a member of this awesome community. You'll get a link to join our camp discord server where you'll be able to meet your fellow campers, coordinate logistics (like sharing hotels or air bnbs around camp time, rides, etc.) and stay up to date on current info and camp happenings. It's a great way to break the ice and get to know each other so everyone can arrive to friendly faces. The discord has also been a lovely place for sharing resources and staying connected outside of camp.

FAQ

What is Queer Camp & who is it for?

Queer Camp is an all-inclusive, 5-day retreat for LGBTQ+ adults to relax, connect, and enjoy the beauty of nature in a safe and welcoming environment. You must be 21+ and will be screened for safety purposes.

When is Queer Camp 2026?

July 13th - July 17th, 2026. It will take place in Santa Fe, New Mexico. (The exact location of the campground is not publicly disclosed for safety purposes.)

What are the amenities?

Restrooms, showers, Wi-Fi, water stations, and communal coolers. The camp also features a main pavilion gathering space, picnic tables, and hammocks for relaxing between activities. Additional amenities include fire pits, recreation and sports areas, and convenient places to charge phones and electronics, so you can enjoy nature while staying comfortable and connected.

Do I need to be experienced in camping?

No prior camping experience is required. Our supportive staff and camp leaders will ensure you have a comfortable and enjoyable experience.

What is the refund policy?

We do not issue refunds for cancellations. Refunds will be provided, minus a $50 processing fee, if a camper does not pass the safety screening. We've never had a camper that didn't pass the screening and only employ that as a safety measure to ensure everyone meets the age requirements etc.

What if I'm closeted or questioning my identity?

You are welcome here! You don't have to know where you fall on the acronym, nor do you need to be living openly as a queer person to join us. If you feel like this space is for you, then it is.

What is included in the cost?

Lodging at the campground, accommodations, communal gear, all food and non-alcoholic drinks, activities, workshops, and group events hosted by Queer Camp (including supplies.)

What is NOT included in the cost?

You are responsible for travel/transport to and from camp. You will also be required to provide your own bedding. The campground offers classes and activities that campers can sign up for at an additional cost paid to the campground. We'll provide a list with costs and coordinate sign-ups for these when we finalize the camper count. If you wish to consume any alcohol or cannabis, you are responsible for bringing that.

What should I bring?

We'll provide a suggested packing list to help our campers prepare. We also have a dedicated discord channel where campers can discuss gear and packing ideas. In addition to the standard clothes, toiletries, and personal items, campers are encouraged to bring any hobby supplies, instruments, games, or other fun activities they'd like. We do allow knives, multitools, and other reasonable camping related things along those lines. You're welcome to bring additional personal camping gear like hammocks, chairs, coolers, etc. though we do provide all of these for communal use!

Do not bring: guns, pets, lighters, or any illegal items.
